Message: i am interested in the 55,000 blaze wood fired hot tub heater for our above ground pool. Can these heaters be hooked up to the pump/filter system rather than thermosyphon. What flow rate can be circulated through the water jacket / heat exchanger?

These wood heaters have an internal pressure limit of 15 psi (1 bar). So it is key to know how much pressure the pump produces. Yes they can be used with a pump/filter system. The ideal location if the pump produces more than 15 Psi pressure if locate the heater after the last valve in the hydraulic circuit leading to the supply fitting. An alternate location sometimes is on the suction side. Bad location is any location where, with a specific valve closed the heater would see the full pump pressure, which is maximum when flow is blocked. Dieter

Thanks for the info Dieter. Also, is it safe to assume the pressure relief valve would protect the wood heater in a situation where more more than 15 psi (1 bar) of internal pressure occurred. Chris
