Do you know of anyone who can hook it up out there? Do I need an electrician to set up power to a pump and ignition? I have an outside electric socket on my mini cabin and a deck in the way. Can I use wood fired when there is no ban? Is it quiet, eg no jets? How long to get it set up to ship to Salt Spring Island - is it in stock? What does shipping cost (V8K 1C8)?

If you are using propane then you hock up with regular BBQ lines. The pump plugs into a normal GFI protect socket. Yes you can use wood fired as a back up when the ban is lifted. Set up is usually 1 day and shipping to Salt Spring Island is about 2-3 week at current production time.

Regarding propane, what size tank? Would I need a large propane "pig"? How long would a 20lb normal sized bbq tank last for daily use for 2 weeks, 500 gallon tub, on the west coast? What is shipping to Salt Spring Island V8K 1C8 302 Byron Road.
Because I was thinking I might need a lot of propane, I asked if an electric system, with still the option of wood fired, as an alternate, would be better, since I have power. What would the cost of that be, and the setup - I assume it involves a power conduit/electrician or something like that?

Lynn, you would definitely need a large pig or minimum a 100 lbs tank at minimum. You could use the electric system with back up wood fired but I know your electricity on the island is very costly so I would think propane would be cheaper. When using propane you could turn off the heat when not needed and turn it up as needed. With electric this is not normally done as it takes hours to heat up.
Hook up by an electrician should be in the range of $500 which is normally what it cost for any hot tub. We would ship to Vancouver free of charge but you would need to make local delivery arrangements from their.
